Hi I am trying simple backup restore, ldif export import with OpenDS 2.2 and it doesn't seem to actually work. I am on a Mac
java version "1.6.0_26"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_26-b03-384-10M3425)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.1-b02-384, mixed mode)
Steps to produce, (post install of OpenDS)
1) Create a LDAP entry using the ControlPanel/Manage Entries (ie dc=foo,dc=com)
2) Create a user under this entry (ie uid=me,dc=foo,dc=com)
3) Create a back The Backup from the double clickable app in the bin of the OpenDS does create a file
4) delete the user uid=me,dc=foo,dc=com
5) shutdown the server
6) Perform a restore from the GUI
7) Start the server (and search for uid=me,dc=foo,dc=com)
uid=me,dc=foo,dc=com would have been restored
I also tried the same thing with export ldif import ldif, although I kept the server running
Hopefully no one is actually using this as a production LDAP server?
If so lets hope no floods, hurricanes exc hit em :(
