Javaforum was first founded in 2000 by Sun as a Java interest group in Sweden. In 2005 it was restarted as a Java user group (JUG) together with five other companies covering the three major cities in Sweden - Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. Speakers range from local to international. Meetings take place three to four times a year in i each city and the number of participants range from 40 to over 200 per meeting. The group has some 1600 members.
