DOAG - German Oracle Users Group
The German Oracle User Group (DOAG) is the only user group in Germany representing the users of Oracle products. Although independent from Oracle on the financial side, the DOAG works closely together with Oracle Germany in technical and organizational issues. Founded in 1988, the DOAG represents the user-interests within the Core Technology, Technical Solution and Business Solution areas. DOAG users are e.g. database administrators, developers, consultants, trainers, and managers. They have various backgrounds: industry, research, and management. The tremendous increase of members over the last years - actually the DOAG counts more than 3,500 members - shows the need for a User Group and their goals and interests.
DOAG's goals and interests
We are organizing more than 100 events per year. Our events are covering all areas (best practices, experiences learned, knowledge sharing).
The Regional groups support the casual contact and exchange of information between the DOAG members in a specific region.
Due to the growing diversification of the Oracle product spectrum, it is necessary to address certain areas in a more specific and deepened knowledge forum. SIG's exist for this purpose and send out invitations for daily events on a regular basis. At the moment the DOAG has 14 different SIG's: Database, Security, Spatial and Oracle on SAP, Development, Java, SOA, BPM, Fusion Middleware, DataWarehouse and E-Business Suite, CRM as well as JD Edwards.
DOAG organises special conferences on actual topics or line of industries, e.g. DOAG ITIL & Business or DOAG Logistics & SCM. For all users of the Oracle Applications range DOAG 2010 Applications Conference will take place once a year.
DOAG offers seminars organised with nameable tutors and Oracle specialists/gurus. These seminars address all Oracle experts. The topics range from Oracle Performance Tuning over PL/SQL, Hardening, Patching, Auditing and more. DOAG could win gurus like Steven Feuerstein, Alexander Kornbrust and G
