I'm thrilled to be in Sweden for Jfokus this year. It's my first time at this event and it is living up to it's reputation. Mattias and crew put on a great show.
I arrived in Stockholm on Sunday morning and checked into my hotel which is directly connected to the conference center. It is hugely convenient to not have to go play in the snow if I need to run back to my room for something.
The conference started with several hands-on-labs on Monday. I didn't attend, but peeking in the windows indicates that they were standing room only. I spent the morning hanging out with old friends, planning my talk for this afternoon (Java.net Update, lots of news to post here tomorrow!), and working out which sessions to attend today and tomorrow.
I got to see Arun Gupta and crew head out for their evening geek run in matching red JMan hats (conference swag). Then the speaker's dinner was last night. I had a great time catching up with old friends and meeting some new ones.
This morning is Georges Saab's keynote, a couple of different sessions to drop in on, then lunch, booth duty, and my talk. I've got a few announcements to make that I'll write up here in the blog tomorrow, and I hope you'll like them.
