For Java 6 update 10, I have the freezing problem mentioned in another thread, so I needed a way to automate turning off the "next generation plugin" and I came up with this after some digging (thanks ProcessMonitor guys!).
"\bin\ssvagent.exe" -high -jpisetup -old
ssvagent does not appear to be documented that I could find, so I'm not sure what the -high does, but -jpisetup can take either "old" or "new"
note that simply changing the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Plug-in\1.6.0_10\UseNewJavaPlugin is not enough. There are quite a few other things that need to be done and ssvagent does them.
