I have been looking into JavaFX for some time now, and it sounds pretty impressive -- except for one small "weakness": deployment.
All the material I have seen seems to indicate that, although the scripting language seems to be easily deployed as standalone application (like a regular Swing- style app) there doesn't seem to be any description about the deployment of JavaFX scripts on the Web.
So how can one deploy such a script on the Web? Does a browser need to have a special plugin? Does one deploy these scripts in an applet (I sincerely hope not, but have to ask!)? Is there some other mechanism that a browser must use in order to do JavaFX?
Frankly, I am seeing a lot of hype and a lot of tutorials for making pretty little toy applications, but without a good deployment mechanism -- especially one usable by browsers -- I do not see this technology being of much use to too many people.
Can someone please enlighten me on this matter? Thank you.
