I'm using 1.6.0_10 b23 to try out JNLP with the applet plugin.
Modified an html file to use the jnlp_href tag:
The jnlp file is as follows:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
Test using Update 10 />
When I start the applet in the browser (IE6 under Windows XP SP2) I get the following:
java.io.FileNotFoundException: JNLP not available: entp_502.jnlp
at sun.plugin2.applet.JNLP2Manager.loadJarFiles(Unknown Source)
at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager$AppletExecutionRunnable.run(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
Exception: java.io.FileNotFoundException: JNLP not available: entp_502.jnlp
Java Plug-in 1.6.0_10-beta
Using JRE version 1.6.0_10-beta Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
I'm confused by the documentation as to where the JNLP is supposed to be. I've tried it both in the directory where the html is loaded from and from the codebase directory, but always get the same result.
Should it be in the codebase directory along with the jar files?
Also, I would hope that I can use relative directory specs in both the html and the jnlp files.
Is there a problem because I'm using SSL?
