I've been having a rather odd problem with jhindexer since the first time I used it yesterday. I have a reliable workaround but I wonder if I can fix the problem entirely somehow?
The problem is very simple: the first time I run jhindexer on my help files, it inevitably fails.
The command I'm using is:
d:\JavaHelp\javahelp\bin\jhindexer -verbose -logfile temp *
Here's what happens in the logfile:
java.io.FileNotFoundException: JavaHelpSearch\OFFSETS (The system cannot find the file specified)
at java.io.FileInputStream.open(Native Method)
My workaround is simple: I just run the exact same command again. Then I get this:
Parse time: 0.61 s
Does anyone have any idea why jhindexer always fails the first time and always works the second time?
I'd be open to any ideas on how I could make it work *every* time. I don't mind running it twice every time since it works and doesn't take any significant time but I can't believe that it is *supposed* to work this way so I'd like to fix the problem if I can.
