GlassFish v2 is now available.
Today we announced the general availability of GlassFish v2 and associated products notably the Java Application Platform SDK update 3. In the previous release of the SDK we had included the SWDP bits. We are no longer doing that with this release of the SDK. Instead you can get most of the components from the GlassFish update center. Already available via the update center are jMaki, Phobos, JRuby and Jersey (JAX-RS implementation). The rest of the components from the SWDP - DynamicFaces, ROME and ROME Propono will also be available soon.
To get the components go in the
<GLASSFISH_HOME>/updatecenter/bin directory and launch
Once the update tool is up and running choose the components that you want to install and just click on the install button. That's it. The instance of GlassFish will now be enabled with the components that you chose to install. You can build, deploy and run applications using the technologies just as before. Give it a try and let us know what you think about it.
