Eclipse continues to struggle with their Web Tools Project. Given Eclipse's strong industry backing, this is a bit surprising. which is why I'm all the more impressed with what the NetBeans team has accomplished.
Eclipse just announced the release candidate for their Web Tools Project. However, it appears to be getting a luke warm reception . It's been over a year now since NetBeans first announced its release candidate of 4.1 with J2EE support, and it has received nothing but praise. With heavyweights like IBM, BEA and Borland contributing to Eclipse, it makes me all the more proud of what Ludovic Champenois , Pavel Buzek , Peter Williams and all of the other engineers working on J2EE support in NetBeans have accomplished.
If you happen to be near Antwerp next Monday, come see Ludo present what makes NetBeans the best IDE for J2EE development at NetBeans in Action .
