The MyJXTA community so rocks. These lads added a sweet "voice/jxta" module the other day. This is just the beginning. Tall cans in the air compadres!
The MyJXTA crew recently added "voice over JXTA ." I am intentionally not framing this as "voice over IP" per se as JXTA proper is a logical network overlay that is both language (ie Java , C, ...) and protocol (ie IP, TCP, HTTP, ...) agnostic. As such, voice over MyJXTA need not be limited to IP alone nor be constrained to one network. The field has been leveled.
Matthew Schmidt of Java Lobby fame, was kind enough to try out an early release and summarized his first experience as "This afternoon I received a demo of the VOIP and I was blown away!" Shortly there after Matthew posted some screenshots along with a new "JXTA VOIP" forum .
MyJXTA has received a number of similiar first impression responses, as noted on the MyJXTA Wall of Words . Jeffrey Moore (aka myjxta:polo) and Ravi Srinivasan (aka myjxta:ravisrin) did an excellent job with this new addition and word is they are just getting warmed up.
The "voice over MyJXTA" code currently being integrated and will become available via the JXTA nigthly builds .
Give it a try. Get connected!
