There seems to be a side-effect of yesterday's JIRA site outage. JIRA now requires a login to browse the issues. Previously a user could browse my project's issue tracker (java.net/jira/browse/EMXSYS) without a login. Is this change permanent?

The issue we had that forced us to keep JIRA on lockdown has been resolved. The one new restriction is that you must have a software developer or admin role to attach files to bugs.

Thanks for your patience. :)

Hi Bruce,

It's not permanent, it's a compromise we had to make to get it back online after the issues we had earlier this week. I can't go into details for security reasons, but Kenai engineering is working on a patch that will allow unauthenticated browsing again. With the holidays it's going to take a few weeks to get it into production.

Any news about this?
Is there an issue tracker to follow?

Thanks,
Holger

It's still in progress. I'm sorry that there is no public place to follow it, but the visibility on the bug itself is internal to Oracle.

This is high on our priority list. We're all having to log in, too, so I feel your pain.
