I am looking at deploying a SWT application using Webstart 1.7 on OSX. It looks like webstart is stripping off -XstartOnFirstThread from my java-vm-args is this a bug? Should I open one?
It never hurts to file a bug. I had modified Web Start in 1.6 to work with this, and it's likely we just didn't port over the code to 1.7.
I've been seeing this as well and just submitted a bug report on bugs.sun.com since I didn't see a similar report there. From reading these posts (here and here(starting with "BOOM" about midway down)), I'm wondering if the "-XstartOnFirstThread" argument gets dropped because of signing issues with the application? Are self-signed certificates permitted anymore, and do we need to access Apple-specific libraries?
Can you supply the bug id for the problem you reported?
I posted the bug but I never heard back whether they accepted it or not. So I guess it got lost ....
Where? I ended up here so because I could not find it.
At the same location where you file all other Java bugs: http://bugs.sun.com/
