Hi all,

There are a few good resources out there to help people write Java apps that look better on OS X, e.g.

http://simplericity.com/2007/10/02/1191336060000.html

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1970876/system-tray-menu-extras-icon-...

http://code.google.com/p/macwidgets/wiki/Examples

But it is all a bit disparate and little gems of wisdom - like setting rootPane.putClientProperty("apple.awt.brushMetalLook", Boolean.TRUE) - are really valuable to know about. (Note: although macwidgets looks great, their API design is totally non-standard making it next to impossible to use their widgets in any GUI Editor)

Is it possible to use SwingX to get benefits for free?

Regards, Sam

No, we don't do any of that. If you have some suggestions for working with the OSX look and feel that would make things easier, please file an enhancement on JIRA.
