Hello everyone,

I am a student in my last year in Computer Science and as you know I need to create a project for my final year

I am trying to create a web application which can browse to different web sites and collect some information

I've already written some code which chooses the browser and navigate to a particular website, but ones in that website I don't know how to do to sign to my account by giving a user name and password. Also ones signed in I need to browse to other website

Any help will be appreciated

Thank you,

Kiki

Hi,

To build such a web application we need to create dynamic pages based on user request. The client sends request to server. The web application resides insides the server receive it, process it and then genetrate a dynamic response based on client request.

To create dynamic response we use J2EE technology to create web-based application like this. We use JSP, Servlets, JFC, Struts, and other Java web based technology to create enterprise based applications. These applications are deployed using Java based servers such as Tomcat, Jboss, IBM WebSphere, WebLogic so on on Windows as well as on Linux os.

As per your project requirements you will decide which technololgy you will need.

All the best

Hi amitsni1234,

Thank you very much for your answer, yes I'm trying to use the same technology you mentioned apart from the server I'm using GlassFish Server.

However, when the application is set I don't know how to program it to be able to go to a particular web and use user name and password to open the page

I included a user name and password in the URl using get method, but this is not secure and doesn't work for all the web pages.

Apparently we need to use post method and more complicated stuff

If you know any website where I can learn more about this it would be very helpful,

Again, thank you very much for your help

Regards,

Kikiandki

Hi,

For this you save the username/password of all the users who had visited ur websites in any database such as Oracle,MySQL so on.

If user wants to login ur website then first access that user username/password from database and compare with the username/password which he had entered while loging the ur website. This make you easier to program ur web apps.

Use JSP/Servlets/JDBC for this type of web application.

If you have any query pls let me know & my emailid : amit1867@yahoo.co.in
