Hi there,

Red Hat Linux v.6 has been released in November 2010 (see http://www.redhat.com/archives/rhelv6-announce/2010-November/msg00000.html).

However, I could not find a Java 6 update that supports RHEL 6 yet. The latest RHEL version supported by Java 6 seems to be RHEL 5.5, as of Java 6 update 21 (see at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/6u21-156341.html).

So my question is -

Are there any plans to support RHEL 6 by Java 6 and when?

Thanks!

leo.

I would like to suggest you take a look at Fedora linux: http://fedoraproject.org/

I have been running it for a few years now, both as a gateway server, and a desktop workstation.
Very easy to install and maintain. I have pretty much given up on MS Windows.

I am using Fedora 14 at the moment. It has OpenJDK 1.6 currently installed, and I am using Netbeans 7.0 for my
development work.

I highly recommend Fedora.

Brad.
