Why is the JXTable.setFilter(FilterPipeline pipeline) gone in 1.6?

I've tried to use the setFilter(FilterPipeline pipeline) , and it wouldn't compile because the function is missing. I've checked for it in the source code of 1.6 (in JXTable.java) - and it's not present there. However , it's still in the documentation. Is it on purpose? Why? What is going to replace it?

SwingX 1.6 now uses Java 1.6 as a minimum. As such, we removed code, which duplicated efforts now found in core. It is now necessary to use core sorting and filtering to do the sorting and filtering in SwingX.
