When you work with multiple Glassfish server version in parallel (which is not so unusual for testing 3.1 promoted builds), it is rather awkward to end up with autogenerated names like

GlassFish Server Open Source Edition 3 (Java EE 6)
GlassFish Server Open Source Edition 3 (Java EE 6) (2)
GlassFish Server Open Source Edition 3 (Java EE 6) (3)

for your server instances and runtime environments.

I realized it's possible to rename a server after creation by double clicking the server in the Server view and then editing the name in the Overview panel, but I could not find a way to rename the runtime environments (to something like glassfish-3.0.1, glassfish-3.1-b24 or so).

Is this worth an enhancement request for the Glassfish plugin? Or is it the WTP base that does not offer any renaming functionality?

Best regards,
Harald

Hi,
I am afraid it is a limitation/eature of the WTP Eclipse generic server support, nothing related to GF plugin...
