Is swingx a good choice to go?

Hi,

I have found swingx SwingX as an extension of swing.
My problem is that I have not found (googling) a positive article (or review) on this project to encourage me to use it.
Most posts refer to JIDE or JGoodies.
My question is, has anyone used swingx components?
Is it a good/stable/supported framework to use?
Will I have portability issues or any other problem?
Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

I am sorry for my question.
I know swing, but I am not too experienced. I am supposed to implement some components that swingx found already has, but I wanted to know if swingx as a framework is actively supported (since swing currently is not being developed) and if it is portable with all JREs.
I was not aware of this forum and was advised to ask here from other place.
If you could give me an overview of the status would be great!!!!
Thank you

well - personally, I feel not like doing your homework for you ;-)

as to "actively supported" - watch this forum, or the release history in the swingx project home and judge by yourself.
as to jre compatible: the advice again is to look at the swingx project home page
