Hi there,
I was tried to deploy my existing JSF application to Tomcat 6.0.26 and Tomcat 7.0.2 but the DynaFaces failed to render the Components under FireFox, Maxthon2 & IE, it works fine with Google Chrome.

However, version of mojarra-1.2_08-b02-FCS and below(inclusive SUN JSF 1.2_04) works on both Platforms. It works also deployed under Glassfish v2ur2.

Main WEB-INF/lib are
jsf-impl.jar,
jsf-api.jar

Did I missed out anything from the deployment? Please help.

regards,
airqq

Hello,
Can you please send us some more information about what kind of error messages/exception stack trace that you are seeing? There are 2 issues filed that are related to your issue : 1757 and 1497. It will be great if you can add your error message to the one appropriate or simply create another issue for it.
Thanks
Sheetal

Hello,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce Manuel to this community. Manuel has been contributing code for this particular effort of making sure that the Mojarra devtests work on Tomcat. For those of you on dev@javaserverfaces, you must have already seen his emails regarding code reviews for the same. I would like to thank him for his continued support in this area and for being a valuable community member.

Thanks
Sheetal

Hi airgg,

what kind of error / stacktrace do you see?

I'm not sure if this can help, but I would start by checking if all dependencies necessary to run JSF & the extensions you use are provided. Tomcat being a servlet container, it does not provide a number of things, such as e.g. the JSTL libraries and dependency injection container functionality.

That is, the issue you describe seems to indicate that the extensions work on one browser (Chrome) but not on others (Firefox, ...). Maybe with a more detailed error message / description, it'd be possible to help.

Cheers,

Manuel

Hi Manuel,
I use original JSTL & Standard from Tomcat 7.

No error message from the console or log.

It(Firefox) just didn't fire the Dynafaces method properly when you press [tab] from the a textfield, but Google Chrome is working fine.

What was missing, ya?

jose

Hi,

Unfortunately I am not familiar with Dynafaces itself. If understood you correctly, some AJAX behavior is broken in Tomcat on FF and IE (but not Chrome) when deploying on Tomcat -- but not when deploying on e.g. Glassfish?

At that point I'm not entirely sure whether this is a library / dependency related issue, and I think it would require more investigation. So I suggest that you file an issue at https://javaserverfaces.dev.java.net/issues/

Cheers,

Manuel
