When error occurs, Mojarra gracefully displays the stack trace, component tree and the scoped variables which are so helpful in troubleshooting.

How can I view the component tree and scoped variables when no errors occur (which also helpful in troubleshooting and testing)

The ui:debug tag does exactly what you are looking for. This tag will let you see the debugging information when a key combination is pressed when the page loads on the browser. The default key combination is CTRL + SHIFT + d. But that combination is used for other purposes in most modern browsers. So you might want to specify your own "hotkey" attribute.
