I am unable to render some GIF images on the OCAP platform. You can try to load this image in your application, http://www.google.co.in/images/hp1.gif and http://www.google.co.in/images/hp3.gif. These dont come up in our application. In fact if I transform this to a JPEG image then hAVI is able to render it. Again this is not the case for other GIF images, there are only some that have the problem.

Is this a known issue?

This is a bug (IT 170), and I have just fixed it in rev 8829 / 8834.

The problem was that the GifImageDecoder was treating the global color map in a GIF file as mandatory, when it should be optional. The problematic GIF images referenced in the bug do not have global color maps (although they do have local color maps). The fix was to make the global color map optional, but to make it mandatory to have either a local or global color map for an image.
