Hi Friends,

Yesterday I just finished with my new application related to World Cup Time Table 2010.

This application provides following information :

1) Teams : Information about all the team in World Cup 2010
2) Groups: All the groups present in World Cup
3) Schedules: All the match schedules.
4) Previous Chamions: All the world cup champions from 1930 to till date.
5) Theme:- Here comes the powerful feature of LWUIT 'Theme' . This application has 10 different theme. You can select your theme and onwords after launching applicaiton your selected theme will be display.
6)Disclaimer: For the application.
7)About: For the application.

Here is the link for download application.
https://hostj2me.com/a/8x3

Right now above link is for 240x320 resolutions devices.

The above build is not working for Nokia N73.

I have tested on device and found that obfuscated code is not working but If I installed the build without obfuscation It works.

I will try to solve this problem. If any body faced the same issue please help me.

I will udpate the more builds as soon as possible.

Please try this app and reply me back for any problem.

Thanks and Regards,
Ashish

Hi ashish,
easy to use and informative app !!
I too am facing problem in running my work in progress lwuit app on n70/n72/n73... since you've solved a similar problem, can you please let me know what was the cause and the solution ? (i have set the obfuscation to highest level)
My app runs fine on most of the other models, the only problem is with the nokia n-series and some windows phones like htc touch - in these models, the app freezes / exits after opening.
Thanks in advance,
zimba.

Hi Zimba,

Thanks for response about the app.

Right now I am using lwuit version 1.2.1(and some updates from svn over this version but i dont rember the date :( ) and I am using netbeans 6.5.1.

Netbeans 6.5.1 uses proguard 4.2.

I just went to C:\Program Files\NetBeans 6.5.1\mobility8\external\proguard\

and replace the proguard4.2.jar to update version (proguard 4.3), but I kept the jar file name same.

After doing this my application was working on Nokia N72 and N73.

I did not try this solution to LWUIT 1.3.

I think you can do this and let us know , Does it work for LWUIT 1.3?

Thanks and Regards,
Ashish

Thanks Ashish, will try your suggestion...
am currently using lwuit 1.3 (subversion from around a month back...) and netbeans 6.8 with the updated proguard version.. so i'll have to verify if it is due to lwuit version or something to do with obfuscation.

intriguing aspect is it works on most of the other phones...

anyone else facing a similar problem with nokia n series phones and/or windows htc phones ?

-zimba.

I recently experimented with LWUIT on Samsung GT-B7300, a WM phone
with jbed JVM. One of the problem was that the app didn't start
(crashed or hung - I do not remember) several JVM there when
explicitly used JSRs absent on the phone (ie jsr179).

So I rewrote my code for dynamic class loading via forName(), it it
fixed the problem. Check it it is your case.

For WM I recommend phoneME
http://davy.preuveneers.be/phoneme/?q=node/10 which seems to be more
stable that original jbed VM. It also has a nice option to write log
file, where such errors are reported.

"... several JVM ..." is a misprint, sorry.

thanks mixa,
but since the prob is also with nokia n series, am not sure how to go about the fix...
i agree that it may have something to do with unsupported jsr's ...
zimba.

Mixa

Then check which optional JSRs you're using - remove them from
classpath when building, and comment all the code using it.

After that check if it fixes your problem, if yes then change JSRs
calls from static linking to dynamic one (Class.forName()) via
intermediate generalization class (that I did).
