JXTA 2.6 with Felix

Hi,

I work on a distributed service architecture for mobile devices and switches from JXTA 2.5 to 2.6. In 2.5 I had transformed the jxta.jar file with bnd to .bar and then start it with Felix and everything is ok.
With 2.6 without OSGi everythink runs good with the patched version, but when I start the old OSGi software with jxse2.6 (with or without bnd wrap) I get the mistake:
Unexpected problem updating configuration
java.lang.NullPointerException
at net.jxta.platform.NetworkConfigurator.load(NetworkConfigurator.java:1517)
at net.jxta.platform.NetworkManager.configure(NetworkManager.java:374)
at net.jxta.platform.NetworkManager.getConfigurator(NetworkManager.java:200)
at dipl.cxfJxtaAdapter.peer.JxtaPeerImpl.start(JxtaPeerImpl.java:89)
at dipl.cxfJxtaAdapter.peer.JxtaPeerImpl.(JxtaPeerImpl.java:68)

I find in other threads that it's tested with Felix, so I think it's my mistake, but it would be very helpful, when someone good write down a few lines what is the best way to integrate JXTA 2.6 in Felix.

Thanks

I know you are reporting a NPE, but NetworkConfigurator 1517 points exactly at some code for which a patch has been posted recently, see http://kenai.com/projects/jxse/pages/26BetaRel at java.lang.IllegalStateException: Missing Multicast Advertisment.

It is also related to another incident: https://jxta-jxse.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=322 for which a patch has been committed too.

Have you tried with the latest .jar? If no, can you try with it? If yes, can you post code describing how you configure the NC and the NM? Is there any existing ConfigParams saved locally or do you start from scratch?

Thanks.

Sorry, my fault, I tested it once again and it looks good. When the bug with the empty messages from the Issue 2.6 thread is fixed everything is perfect. Thanks for your work.

No worry. I would rather that people report 'false positives' than nobody testing the application.
