I'm trying to find out what's the licensing used by JBoss/Mobicents SIP Servlets.

Some pages refer to LGPL:
http://www.mobicents.org/license.html
http://www.mobicents.org/products_sip_servlets.html
http://www.mobicents.org/mss-downloads.html

others refer to a dial GPL/commercial license:
http://www.mobicents.org/faq.html

Also the downloads on http://www.mobicents.org/mss-downloads.html, apparently LGPL according to the website, contain some GPL license files and a MOBICENTS-LICENSE.txt file containing "Mobicents is freely available under the terms and conditions of the GNU General Public License (GPL)".

Could someone please clarify what license JBoss/Mobicents SIP Servlets is under?

thanks,

Horaci

Mobicents SIP Servlets is the community project it is licensed under LGPL but some other libraries like Diameter, Media Server, JAIN SLEE are licensed under GPL so you need to make sure only Mobicents SIP Servlets to fall under LGPL.

JBoss Communications Platform is the product derived from Mobicents on which Red Hat sells support, training and consulting services it is offered under a commercial license where GPL or LGPL doesn't apply anymore.

Hope this clear things up
In the future please post on http://groups.google.com/group/mobicents-public since those forums are being spammed regularly and we are moving away from them
