SOAP Package Logging with JAXWS

A simple question but very important for debugging purposes:

How can I turn on logging with JAX-WS when using it with Tomcat 6?

I see an example of logging with Glassfish. But how can we enable logging of SOAP messages for Tomcat 6 and JAX-WS.

Thanks

I think setting the system property:

com.sun.xml.ws.transport.http.client.HttpTransportPipe.dump=true

will work. (Haven't tried this on Tomcat 6 personally; but I think this is a server-independent mechanism that should work on Tomcat 6 as well as on any other server.)

I have set this, but this doesn't sound like working:

I placed this system property as JAVA_OPTS in catalina.bat. I am running the tomcat6 from command line:

C:\tomcat6\bin>startup.bat
Java Options are as following....
-Djava.util.logging.config.file="C:\tomcat6\conf\logging.properties" -Dcom.sun.xml.ws.transport.http.client.HttpTransportPipe.dump="true"

But I can't see a SOAP request/response packet for any web-service request.

You should be using server-side logging property, see https://jax-ws.dev.java.net/guide/Logging.html#Dumping_SOAP_messages_on_...
