Hi,

Can we use JDTF to automatize our functional tests currently being done on Sun Java Wireless Toolkit emulator? As far as I understood, JDTF is used to automatize tests done on real mobile devices.

Yes,
Here are two tested objects: real mobile device or emulator; you may use either of them.

Regarding to Emulator mode that was documented in Java Device Test Framework Getting Started Guide : https://jdtf.dev.java.net/getting_started/html/index.html

for example, starting from Prerequisites of Installation Options:
# A version of the Wireless Toolkit is required for preverification of tests and is recommended for testing new tests.

*..download and install the Wireless Toolkit for CLDC version 2.5.2
...
e. If you have installed an emulator, change the default value if it is not correct.

default.emulator.home=c:/WTK2.5.2

f. If you want the administrator harness to use a different name to distinguish this emulator from others you might also install, change the default value:

default.emulator.alias=JDTF-EMU
...
etc

Hello Victa,

Its been many days after I installed JDTF in my system, but am not yet able to write a good test case, infact I didn't understand how to write test cases. Could you help me out of this.

Hey,

I would strongly recommend to use the netbeans plugin to create a basic skeleton with some basic code and metadata files. Look at the example code and modify that skeleton to suit your needs.

You should add more details about your problems to get a better answer ;)
