external binding file is ignored when compiling classes from wsdl via xjc

Hello all,

When I try to compile classes from a wsdl and with external binding file (xjc -wsdl webcheckin.wsdl -b binding.xjb) the external binding is seemingly ignored.

I extracted the types from the wsdl into a plain xsd schema file, and with that it works (xjc webcheckin.xsd -b binding.xjb).

Here is my binding.xjb:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Which should make the generated classes serializable. If I compile from the xsd then they are indeed serializable, but when I compile from the wsdl then they are not.

Is this a bug in xjc or am I missing something?

Thank you, Peter
