Hi equilo

at the moment there's no way to open a WL client inside a browser. However, a few members of the group have been investigating the use of an applet.

FYI, the current version of the Avatar Animation System (using the open source Cosmic Engine - a virtual world environment by IMI Labs) is applet capable. Here is a link to the compatibility test page:
http://immediatemodeinteractive.com/Applet/CompatTest/

you're very welcome to leave us a note about your experience with the test here, or at the CE forum:

If you'd like to see more (and let me tell you! there is more!) come meet us at GDC next week - both Dustin and myself will be there.

In my case nothing gets displayed but this error string inside the loading bar:

Error: java.io.IOException: Cannot find certificates for JNLPAppletLauncher.class

I'm running Karmic Koala Ubuntu with sun-java6-plugin in Firefox

David

are you running Sun's JDK or openJDK (To test, type 'java -version')
There have been some problems with the latter.

Sorry for the the late reply - I'm running OpenJDK

da@daxtron:~$ java -version
java version "1.6.0_0"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.6.1) (6b16-1.6.1-3ubuntu1)
OpenJDK Server VM (build 14.0-b16, mixed mode)

I don't know anybody who's successfully using OpenJDK with Wonderland.

You do know the differences between OpenJDK and Sun's Java implementation?

By the way, you may want to join us over at the new Wonderland project sites:
