Hi all,

I've tried the install procedures from http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Javadesktop/SwingXIDE but after adding swingx components to palete, netbeans editor becomes weird. It no longer can preview design, cannot invoke File->Open file (and some other menus actions), and frequently shows error when dragging Swingx component to form.

I'm using Netbeans 6.8 in Ubuntu 9.10 with Sun jdk 6u18.

Anyone got solution or workaround ?

Regards
Ken

PS: Also I've tried to include swingx-beaninfo-1.6.jar but symptom persist.

Hi all,

I think I found the troublemaker. All my troubles was caused by using JGoodies look and feel in Netbeans. Once removed Swingx components works fine.

It works fine with Maven: add beansinfo as dependency and add components to palette

Thanks for you reply.

Could you please elaborate a bit more. I'm not bit fan neither familiar with Maven, could you please help provide more information. Could you design yours form with Netbeans 6.8 and Swingx component in palette ?

Best regards

I would be surprised if this was swingx related. Does it work with swingx 1.0? Does is work again if you switch back to netbeans 6.7? Have you tried other swing components packages? Have you tried adding the components to the palette directly from the jar instead of first creating a library? And of course the beansinfo jar must be included in the project. Although I don't remember whether that is necessary for Ant projects.

If you're not familiar with Maven, I suggest trying the above options first.

Thanks again for your help.

I've tested using Swingx 1.0 and 1.6. Both got same problem/symptom with Netbeans 6.8 when adding directly from jar or from library containing swingx dist jar's.

About adding component to palette, i've install JCalendar component to netbeans palette directly from jar and works perfectly.
