I have just added some thoughts to the discussion doc and published it as a web page. The url is

http://docs.google.com/View?id=dhkmmghn_18xcg6brh

The doc is still on the firefox instance in the community world, at least I think it is. I am traveling and I don't have the bandwidth to open the world.

Anyone that wants to add to the document that has difficulty with entering the world can post an email address and I will add to the list of collaborators for the Google Doc.

Morris

as an update, there's now a couple of code examples for handling audio:

server-side--take a look at the marbleous module
client-side--take a look at the portal module

hope this helps

Hi Morris,

I haven't seen anymore the firefox instance inworld..

The scripting functionality you describe would be very useful. Any of the 2 options you list would be fine.

Remember also the discussion about what is really missing today in Wonderland to make a MPK20 type of demo: animation of a couple of bots ! A demo today is important because the survival of Wonderland might depend upon .. capability (and associated tools like demo) to sell it !!
Any idea today ??

Thanks,
-michel

There is a scripted bot capability now that has the ability to do the pre-defined animations. Two things it does not yet have are the event that would tell the script that an animation has finished and the ability to play sound clips under script control. Those two things would be quite important for doing a proper job of animating a bot. I have asked for the termination event several times without result and I am waiting to try to implement the sound capability until there is some minimum level of documentation about the audio capability component or sample code that implements the audio.

I have kept in mind the capability for animated bots that you have mentioned in the past and still hope to get everything working eventually. I will be putting the bot module that I have into the module repository as soon as I get finished with the preview3 scripting component. I am traveling so I am not getting much done at the moment.

Thanks Morris -- I cannot wait to have my hands with the scripted bot !

Maybe you can send a copy of the jar to me as attachment of an email, with a few lines of "how-to" ?
