The server is now up for the community test today at 10am PT / 1pm ET:

http://wonderland.sunlabs.com:8080/

The test will run approximately an hour and will be conducted like a regular event with speakers. Here's the agenda:

* Introduction and Networking
* Opening Remarks, Nicole Yankelovich
* University of Oregon Research, Kathryn Aten & Taryn Stanko
* Scripting, Morris Ford
* Particle System, Ryan Babiuch (aka Jagwire)
* Debriefing

We ask that everyone who joins the test please do the following:

* Wear a headset - no open speakers please
* Join the IRC chat at: irc://irc.freenode.net/wonderland
* Use the new error reporting feature if necessary (Help --> Error Log --> Error Report)
* Send error reports to: dev@wonderland.dev.java.net

Nicole.

Interesting bug happened to me.

When everybody walked though the first portal, I collided with it but did not teleport. In fact I got stuck in the wall, had to turn off avatar collisions to get unstuck. Turned them back on, tried to portal again, no joy. Then I used placemarks to get the destination. After I'd been there for a while, the portal began acting on my avatar, TPing me back to the destination repeatedly while throwing some math error to the Java console. I wish I'd been able to copy the dump, but the loop became *very* tight and I ended up needing to reboot to get my machine back.

All that said, it was *very* cool to have so many people in-world for this test. A SecondLife region would have been showing signs of strain at that level of usage.

This is exactly the issue I've had with the portal. I started a thread here but haven't got any love with it yet http://forums.java.net/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=383145#383145

I am in-world there now and hope to stay connected though the test. Unfortunately I'm without a mic although I can hear the audio. Have to find a sneaky way to get to IRC.
