dvb.fontindex file in application base directory

According to 3-2 D.2.2.3.3, the dvb.fontindex file can either be in the AUXDATA directory, for a disc-wide list, or in the application's base directory. Has anyone used this second location for dvb.fontindex? Has it worked well, or have there been any observed interoperability problems?

I expect it ought to be reliable; it seems pretty basic. I just wanted to toss a message out there to see if anyone's run into some kind of surprise, or if anyone has used this and can verify that it works.

Thanks,

Bill
