Hi,

I am currently developing a JavaME application which uses both the bluetooth and file connection API.

Which build of PhoneME should I be using to deploy it on a Windows CE mobile device?

Kindly guide me in this regard.

Thanks!

Hi pajv,

I am assuming you have been looking into my phoneME builds for Windows Mobile and WinCE,
including both the phoneME Feature and the phoneME Advanced with MIDP stacks.

At the moment, I support the JSR 75 FC implementation provided by phoneME Feature, but it
does not work for the phoneME Advanced stack. For Bluetooth, the JSR implementation
provided by the phoneME project has a javacall dependency which I don't support. Instead, I
use the open source BlueCove library. Unfortunately it has a J2SE dependency which makes it
unfit for the phoneME Feature stack (so it only works for the phoneME Advanced stack).

So basically none of my builds support both JSRs but I think the easiest way forward would
be to port the FC part of JSR 75 to the dual stack phoneME Advanced, but this may require
some work. Porting the BlueCove sources to a pure MIDP stack is going to be more complex.

If somebody else knows of an open source Bluetooth API that works with phoneME Feature or a
JSR 75 implementation that works with phoneME Advanced I am always interested to hear
about it.

Hi pajv,

FWIW, I have implemented a small wrapper around the file protocol implementation of the
pMEA Dual Stack to provide the necessary FileConnection interfaces. If you want to use file
connections and bluetooth, you could try the latest pMEA Dual Stack builds on my website.
Note that I have not tested it thoroughly, so there might be some issues left.
