Hello,

Every Blu-ray player I have looked at (including Sony, Panasonic, Oppo, Philips, LG) has a 960x540 video configuration. It is especially interesting considering that most of them don't have 720x576 (corresponding to PAL/SECAM) configuration. The HDCookBook also talks about QHD resolution but I haven't seen QHD spec in Blu-ray documentation nor have seen any 540p/540i video format code for playlist or clpi. Is there such a video format for Blu-ray?

Vinay,

960 x 540 is available for the graphics device only, generally used with an underlying 1920 x 1080 video format, but it can also be used with SD video. See BD-ROM 3-2 13.2.1, 13.2.2.1 and javadocs for org.bluray.ui.DeviceConfigurations.

Cheers,
Joe
