Where to get Java 1.3 (PBP 1.0) classpath?

Hi,

Not long ago I've wasted a whole workday (commenting out code line by line, recompiling, burning a disc, testing on a device) just to find out that my Xlet didn't work on a PS3 due to "Color.RED" (which appeared in 1.4) instead of "Color.red". Needless to say how p*ssed off I was :) In the same time the code compiled well (in NetBeans), and I'm sure it also would run well in PowerDVD.

And it's all the matter of Personal Basis Profile (PBP) 1.1 being used both in NetBeans (as a compile-time class library) and in PowerDVD (as runtime). PBP 1.1 is roughly equivalent to Java 1.4+, while PBP 1.0 is Java 1.3-based. At least Sony PS3 supports only PBP 1.0, so it would be very nice to have PBP 1.0 class libraries to check compilation against.

The question is: where do you guys/gals get Java 1.3 equivalent classes to compile your Xlets against (to be sure the will run well on a device)? As we can see, PBP 1.0 itsefl is not available for download from Sun's website.

Thanks!
Zohan

Go to the wiki at http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Mobileandembedded/Blu-RayDisc and click on "BD-J Platform Definition" to find out how to assemble the complete package. The PBP 1.0 part is listed there, and comes from a Sun website. It's Sun's "Javadoc API Reference Documentaiton for Blu-ray Disc Application Development"

Thanks Bill, I definitely missed that. Now I see, pbp10b.zip contains full PBP 1.0 source that can be compiled to classes.

I believe the full set of BD-J stubs is available under free license from the BDA as part of the BD-J JavaDocStubs license: http://www.blu-raydisc.info/license_app/javadocstubs_apps.php

Cheers,
Joe
