Hi chris

could you tell us which version of wonderland you are using, and also which version of java, and finally which platform?

thanks

Chris,

I just got the same problem, on Win Vista.

The solution was to erase the .wonderland-server tree and re-launch the web server, which fixed the problem.

i'm afraid, this didn't solve my problem. i get another error message!

Error java.lang.NullPointerException starting web server
java.lang.NullPointerException

at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.plainConnect(HttpURLConne

.java:726)
at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(HttpURLCon
nection.java:1049)

why do i get an exception at parsing the URI??? i was searching for similar error messages... but it seems, that nobody else ever had this problem....

hi bernard,

i have installed Win 7 (64bit), jdk 1.6_18 (32 bit) and ant-1.8.0 (32 bit).

i have tried different ways to start wonderland:

1) first i tried to start the jar file with:

- java -jar Wonderland.jar
- java -Djava.home="C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_18" -jar Wonderland.jar

2) and i tried to start the source code with "ant run-server"

but i get always the same error...

i don't know why. i have set the environment variables ANT_HOME and JAVA_HOME...

so i tried to install virtualbox and run wonderland under windows xp. there i have no problems...

but i think it doesen't make sense to run wonderland in a virtual machine...

thanks

chris

hmm, I wonder if this is a Windows 64bit issue, rather than a Windows7 issue? Any chance you could install Windows7 32 bit on your virtual box and test?

I'm running JW (preview2 and preview3) at win7 32bit and 64bit with jdk 1.6.0_18, but I didn't see that error.
