Hi

Im running windows vista on an M1330 (dell) with netbeans/glassfish bundle. Netbeans 6.5 and glassfish v2.1.

when I try to run the guessNumber examble, I get a system error saying unknown file type with options to download from internet or save file. Neither of which of course leads to anywhere!

The application builds and deploys successfully within netbeans heres code -

deps-module-jar:
deps-ear-jar:

As you 0can see everything looks ok, but when i try to run app. comes up with this unknown file type error.

I dont use ant much but when i try to deploy using ant - heres code -

umber>ant deploy

b\tools.jar
Buildfile: build.xml

check:

From what I know, unknown file types can be a result of corrupted file associations in the registry. But there are software able to decipher the code and display/execute, view or preview the file. It's not uncommon and I've read it in this guide on how to open unknown file type.

Hi,

Ant needs JDK path be specified in JAVA_HOME environment variable.
It looks like you defined JAVA_HOME variable to point to a JRE: C:\Program Files\Java\jre6.
Try to set it with C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_10 or something like that.

Regards,

Laurent.

finally took some time to figure out the problem

if you are using netbeans and you get a "file not found" error when you try to open a jsp file this can be resolved checking your proxy settings on your IDE

When you set the IDE to use a proxy, your Internet browser may attempt to route all files through the proxy, including local files. This results in a File Not Found error when you try to open an HTML file or applet in the IDE's external browser. To resolve this problem, add localhost and your machine name to the list of bypassed hosts in your browser's proxy settings.
