Hi all!

We are working in a p2p network using jxta and we realized the necessity of a distributed database. Is there some type of distributed database that integrates with jxta?

Tks a Lot!

Hi,

It depends on what kind of functionality you need exactly, but HyperGraphDB, just released at http://www.kobrix.com/hgdb.jsp has a distribution framework for P2P environment, and the ability to share data between peers. On the other hand, after struggling heavily with JXTA we went for an XMPP based solution. JXTA or XMPP are basically low-level communcation layers from HypergraphDB's perspective. So even though we stopped maintaining the JXTA version because we couldn't get it to work reliably and because it didn't seem actively maintained, the code is still there and it might interest you. The project is LGPL btw, no fees, no strings attached :)

Best,
Boris

Hi all again!

I found the meteor project, but it doesn`t look reliable, any hints of Distributed Databases over JXTA?

We have implemented an internal reliable convergent database library in our core product. We will be releasing and SDK Q1/Q2 next year. Licensing terms to be decided.
