Hello to everyone. I have just started to use this interesting framework and i need some help because i have to realize a Client server architecture with jxta for didactical purpose:

i was thinking something like this: one peer acts like server, publishes one group where the client will join. I am not quite sure about the communication, firstly because the client needs to know who is the server and send to him detiled messages(how to do this?) and second because the server needs to send a message to all the client in the group(something like multicast). How is possible to realize this kind of structure? Is it possible to use login function with password?

Thanks in advance for your reply

I'm developing an open source systems management application with an architecture similar to what you're working on.

I have a single peer that acts like a server and various clients. The server peer creates a service that accepts an inventory from the clients. Here, basically, the clients are sending a POJO with the information I need the server to know. For instance, each client has a pipe and its ID is included in this inventory. Then, the server can communicate with the client via the pipe ID it has received.

I haven't started working much with groups yet - this is my current work, so I couldn't tell you about this.

thanks for the reply. I had the same idea with the pipe service. I will use this for client--> server communication(the server publishes one pipe and the client after discovery will use thi one to send messages to server). For the Server--->client communication i wanted to create one single message from the server to all the client connected for example in one group but i don't know how to do this.
