[webtier] v3 prelude: JSF hangs container

deploying my JSF app to prelude v3. upon trying to access the app, the
entire container hangs. it's fine accessing other resources in the web
app, until i hit JSF then everything hangs, including admin. CPU is pegged.

any ideas how to debug this?

SIGQUIT triggers a JVM thread dump - it's been a while since I've had to
do this. From there, we can at least start the process of guessing.

(Btw - did you use updatetool to update v3Prelude to have the latest
(FCS) code?)

I would recommend getting a nightly or promoted build.

How are you deploying? From NetBeans? Hudson?
There are times I either copy my war to glassfishv3/glassfish/domains/domain1/autodeploy or use the admin http://localhost:4848.

How is your webapp organized and built? Depending on ejb's jpa, web modules? Are you copying extra jars into your webapp/WEB-INF/lib folder that shouldn't go there?

...thinking out loud...trying to jog your thoughts on what could be the problem...

on the fourth restart, glassfish was finally nice enough to tell me it
was out of permgen space. thanks.
