Someone recently told me that it is best to keep files written to in an 8.3 naming format, or some players may have trouble with them. Can anyone verify this for me?

TIA

yes, some player will only support 8.3 naming format for e.g. some BD-Live capable Panasonic (I don't remember player name) player will only support 8.3 format. But in same place PS3 or Samsung will never bother about format..

Hi Martin,

Yes, I can confirm this, at least some of players we have for tests are using external memory card/flash as a persistent memory and require 8.3 naming.
