Hi,

I've been looking over build systems (particularly Mojarra) and see that now com-sun-commons-beanutils com-sun-commons-digester etc. exist. Looking for a maven repository way to obtain these but they appear not to be available.

Can anyone point to what is planned for these? Are they becoming a part of Java like Apache Xerces etc.? What is the best/nice way to make these a part of ant (or Netbeans), maven, etc projects.

They're just renamed Apache commons projects, actually pretty out of date.

Why renamed? Because we didn't want you to use them, and because we
didn't want to interfere with you using the real, up to date versions.
These packages previously were used in GlassFish v2, but their use now
is no longer in the runtime - just in the build process for Mojarra.
(And we're probably going to remove them once we have a free moment.)

Hope this clears things up.

Hi Jim,

I had a free moment.

So here is a patch [downloadable from http://www.sendspace.com/file/u5nu23] that switches to apache commons jars for these four; beanutils, digester, collections and logging. This is on the current trunk HEAD as of this evening.

After applying the patch mojarra build downloads from http://repo1.maven.org/maven2 repository. If this patch is acceptable it would be a next step to apply the maven ant tools and use the jar artifacts directly in the ant build as described at http://maven.apache.org/ant-tasks/installation.html and http://maven.apache.org/ant-tasks/usage.html. These provide ant path id's which can be ref'ed in ant classpath's.

Thank you so much!

There are a few administrative tasks I have to take care of before I
apply your patch, I've opened bug 1205 to track it's progress.
