Hi all,
I'm trying to run some basic applications (like SIP Wake UP) using JBoss/Mobicents....but without success. I need your help....

First, let me explain the scenario that I'm using:

1- Windows XP
2- JDK 1.5.0_19
3- Jain Slee / Mobicents Server 1.2.6.GA
4- JBoss - 4.2.3.GA

The JBOSS_HOME and JAVA_HOME were provided.

I'm using the run.bat provided and it seems OK too.

I can access the Mobicents management console in http://localhost:8080/management-console without problems where the Mobicents Jain Slee server running can be verified.
Also I got access the jmx-console for JBoss. So, it seems correctly installed....

Just for a first application test, I had deploy the RA SIP and SIP11 and it "seems" OK using ONLY the menu Deployable Units in Mobicents managament-console, considering that I can see the updates in Resorce Adaptors menu, for example.

After this, I repeat the same procedure with the DU file that were provided in example SIP-Wake-UP: sip-wake-up-DU-1.2.6.GA.jar (Remenber: Only using the Deployable Units in management-console, ok?)

The problem ocurred when I tried to instal this DU. I received the following errors (some the initial lines..):

ERROR]
javax.management.MBeanException:Exception thrown in operation install
com.sun.jmx.mbeanserver.StandardMetaDataImpl.invoke(StandardMetaDataImpl.java:435)
javax.management.StandardMBean.invoke(StandardMBean.java:323)
org.jboss.mx.server.RawDynamicInvoker.invoke(RawDynamicInvoker.java:164)
org.jboss.mx.server.MBeanServerImpl.invoke(MBeanServerImpl.java:659)
sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method)
sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39)
sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25)

.......

Can somebody help me?
I'm trying to fix this problem during two days and I didn´t get any results...

I saw some informations where recommend use the ant or mvn commands.....but this is really necessary? Is there another way to run the examples without run ant or mvn commands..?

Thanks in advance and sorry by the basic doubts. These are my firsts attempts to use Mobicents/Jboss...

Roanes.

Hi Roanes,

Welcome to Mobicents :)

The easiest way to deploy DUs in Mobicents is to copy the DU jar to the JBOSS_HOME/server/default/deploy folder.. That way it will do all the needed steps for fully deploying the DUs (create RA entities, activate RAs/Services, etc.).

For more info you can check this page: http://groups.google.com/group/mobicents-public/web/jboss-slee-deployer

SIP an SIP11 Resource Adaptors should not be deployed at the same time. You should only use (and deploy) the SIP11 RA which is the one currently being maintained, and according to the latest JAIN SLEE specification, v1.1.

Using mvn commands is only necessary when building from source. Using ant from binary installs the DU either by copying the DUs or by doing the necessary JMX actions.

Hi Alexandre,
first of all, thanks by the very quickly advice !
I believe that we're almost there......but there is something missing...

1- Copying ONLY de .jar sip wake up file on the JBOSS_HOME/server/default/deploy nothing happend. The server started and finished.

2- Copying ONLY de .jar sip wake up file on the JBOSS_HOME/server/default/deploy-mobicents/scripts something happend finally..:)....but the DU was not implemented. Below, the last lines from the run.bat prompt:

[i]17:31:08,500 INFO [Server] JBoss (MX MicroKernel) [4.2.3.GA (build: SVNTag=JBos
s_4_2_3_GA date=200807181417)] Started in 45s:297ms
17:31:08,796 INFO [DeployableUnit] Missing dependencies for sip-wake-up-DU-1.2.
6.GA.jar:
+-- SbbID[LocationSbb#org.mobicents#1.2]
+-- ResourceAdaptorTypeID[JAIN SIP#javax.sip#1.2]
+-- EventTypeID[javax.sip.message.Request.MESSAGE#net.java.slee#1.2]
+-- ResourceAdaptorEntityLink[SipRA]
17:31:08,812 WARN [DeploymentManager] Unable to INSTALL sip-wake-up-DU-1.2.6.GA
.jar right now. Waiting for dependencies to be resolved.

So....it seems that I need to implement more elements and/or edit some configuration file to provide these dependencies.....What's happend?

Another question: After fix this problem, may I use the Mobicents management console to verify the correct deploy?

Thanks a lot.

Oi Robson ;)

Copying to server/default/deploy should have worked... it's processed in the same way as server/default/deploy-mobicents/scripts. You should retry to see if something went wrong.

You should copy the resources/sip11/sip11-ra-DU-1.2.6.GA.jar to the same folder, so it gets deployed. Another dependency needed for this example is the SIP Services proxy, again, just copy the examples/sip-services/sip-services-proxy-without-initial-invite-DU-1.2.6.GA.jar to deploy folder.

You can see more information regarding this example here: http://groups.google.com/group/mobicents-public/web/jain-slee-sip-wake-up

After that, yes, you can check the management console where you should see the SIP11 Resource Adaptor, SIP Services and SIP Wake Up Service installed.

Alexandre,
the last information that you provided works fine! Great!

I mean, now I can see all the .jar files that you recommended as deployed.

Now, I can start some functional tests and understand with more details how Mobicents/JBoss handle SIP signalling and/or others protocols...and which kind of protocol interworking scenarios can be supported by Mobicents.

I'll try to check why using just the deploy subdirectory was not OK....I don´t know...

Thanks a lot and good luck.
