I'm a french java developer and I would like to translate the tutorials to my native language. It would help a lot of french people who don't read english very well. Is it possible ?
there's an old thread from last year on this forum: http://forums.java.net/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=42278&tstart=75
where someone calles "bassim" talked about a partial french translation.
You can check the status of the translations at the project's wiki, here: http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Projects/Javatutorials
Maybe you can complete that.
I didn't see those links before and a good work seems to have been done already. Are you still working on a spanish translation ? And are you doing it alone? If not, how are you synchronizing with others ?
I am asking these questions because it seems that anyone can use the wiki to change the translation, and it sounds a bit risky to me...
Thx in advance,
yes I'm still working on the spanish translation (alone), but things are going slow lately because of the new version of the tutorials having been published in May this year and I'm still working out how to update the existing translation (I probably won't ;-)).
Indeed, anyone who's registered can change the wiki contents, that's why I chose to use my personal website to host the tutorials and only link from the wiki to the individual pages on my site.
My goal is to translate at least the "Learning the Java Language" trail and then start with loose chapters that are of interest to me.
