I was wondering if anyone could tell me why Java 6 Update 14 is not on java.com as the latest version of Java that consumers should install, and when it will make it there if ever? Additionally, when will the Windows auto updater start updating to this version, if ever?

Java 6 Update 13 re-introduced bugs into WebStart that were fixed in Update 14. With the bugs in Update 13, any Windows user of ours that runs our web start app after an update has been done on the server gets a cache error that can only be resolved if the user completely uninstalls the webstart app. This is a nightmare for us, especially since the Java auto updater recommends to user using an earlier version, one that isn't broken, to update to 13. We'd love to be able to get our userbase off of update 13, but the only way to do that right now is to have each user go through java.sun.com to get the update.

What's the point of releasing Update 14 if it's not going to make it to java.com where the end users of Java can benefit from the bug fixes? Ugh.

Any info is appreciated,
