JXME- uses log4j and all jxme modules use the following method to acquire the logger:

private static final transient Logger LOG =
Logger.getInstance(.class.getName());

Which means the only way that a global logging shutoff can occur is through global (environment vars) such as may be JXTA_LOGGING ... however, that I remember exists in jxse but I don't seem to find it in jxme. So the question stil remains - any ideas as to how one can shutoff the debug logging in jxme?

Thanks again

JXME uses a log4j stub see src/org/apache/log4j. where logs end up being a simple sys.out.print

ConfigurationFactory seems to have a method setDebugLevel(). I've not tried it though, so don't know yet if it makes a difference.

I tried that originally but it didn't work. Actually what worked for me was to set the debugging off by calling Category.setDebug(false). Try that.

Thanks

Oh yeah! I didn't see that... actually it I now do Logger.setDebug(false); as it extends Category. Also seems to look more logical.

Cheers galato.
