I want to know how to set up a public rendezvous node. I have been seeing documentation on jxta wiki but they are very old. Is there any option to set mandatory? Thanks
If it is a public RDV, then it must have a public IP address. You just need to make sure TCP communication is enabled and that traffic is not blocked or hidden by firewalls/NATs.
Well, i want to explain a problem that I had when I set up a public rendezvous node. The problem I had is that only two peers could connect to jxta. What I do (and it works for me) is change the method of add seeds for every peer and for every public rendezvous. Instead of using addSeedRendezvous method (which it needs a tcp or http address) I used addRdvSeedingURI method (providing a URI to get a list of seeds). To use this method, first, I create the list (with the ip and port of my two public rendezvous nodes (ex: tcp://192.168.0.1:9701) in a txt and I put it on a web server. Then I set the URL to the seeds list as parameter of addRdvSeedingURI method of every peer and public rendezvous and it works!
can you give me the code that allow you to set up a public peer rendezvous, I am a begginer with jxta , I have an application that work in local network and I want to go to large scale,so I need to have a publid rendezvous node .
I will be very grateful if anybody could help me
