Hi all,
I want my server to listen on a specific port using Http . It will be a java application and not a web application. Client will send data to the server by eg. http://IP:Port?"data_to_send" . Is there any method available to do this?
OR is there any other way to do this ? I just want my java application to listen on a specific port using http for data.

Thanks in advance.

If you're not going to use a webserver for this, you will have to either find a package that allows you to listen to and parse HTTP requests for you, or write such a parser yourself (which is not very difficult).

Why the reliance on HTTP, though? If you're not going to be a web server, why use a web-centric protocol?
