I am using PhoneME(Feature MIDP) on HTC touch diamond. All functionality seems to work except socket connection via interface wifi..

I am using secure wifi on my device and i just want to do socket connectivity with my server using wifi.

I am able to do socket connection if my device is connected to PC, mean using PC's n/w connectivity its able to acheive what i want.

So Is there any way to configure PhoneME to work with wifi?

Or any other solution?

Yes Devy you are right. The issue was with IP address only . I was specifying the ip address like(127.0.0.1) and actually it needs host name . So s/w Pocket Host solved my problem.

Thanks a lot

I modified a method in the socket protocol code that is responsible for resolving the host name
into a byte array that represents the corresponding ip address. If the hostname is specified
as an IP address, it is now converted directly into the byte array. Otherwise, I do a look up to get
the IP address of the given host name.

It appears to work in the small test example I made. The latest phoneME Feature builds on my
website (rev 17725) have the fix included.

Do you have some example code?

Here is an example that works for me:

But I have been informed that using IP addresses could be an issue:

I have not had the time look into this problem, but could it be that it is
the same bug that is causing you problems?
